Love and Food - Family Style
When two souls decide to take the brave journey of becoming one, it's because of LOVE. As the time comes to begin planning a wedding, you bring together the people that matter the most to you to witness that LOVE. The wedding of Aaron and Christina was all about love of family. They are booth deeply rooted in family traditions and togetherness. When it came time to put together their menus, it was an easy choice for them to serve their loved ones "family style".Family style service is a beautiful way to make your wedding dinner feel more like home. It evokes the experience of an intimate dinner with your family. By serving in a less formal manner, your guests feel more connected to the people they're sharing a table with. Summit Event Catering excels at this service by plating your menu choices on platters that are placed at each table in a simultaneous manner. This means every table is served at the same time so no guest is left waiting. Each plate from entree to sides has serving spoons, allowing guests to serve themselves as much or as little as they wish. When choosing this style of service remember to keep your centerpieces simple to allow ample room for at least 5 platters.Just because the service is less formal, doesn't mean your menu needs to be. With the help of Event Producer Veronica Medrano, Aaron and Christine chose a very elegant menu that consisted of:
- Gourmet Baby Greens with Mandarin Oranges, Sundried Cranberries, Carmelized Walnuts and Feta Cheese, served with a Raspberry Viniagrette.
- Top Sirloin with a Black Peppercorn Sauce
- Vegetable Paella with Artichoke, Shitake Mushroom, and Japanese Eggplant
- Escolar with Sake, Soy Sauce, and Fresh Ginger
- Medley of Grilled Italian Baby Vegetables with Fresh Herbs
A common myth is that family style service will interfere with your decor. As you can see from this stunning wedding at Scripps College in Claremont, this is not the case. We loved how the couple used bright and contrasting colors with patterned textiles that felt lighthearted and celebratory. We think these images by Jeremy Lucero speak volumes about the comfort and tradition this style of service conveys. He captured the entire day and the love the couple has for each other and their loved ones beautifully. We thank our vendor partners who gave their best to this beautiful couple:Venue: Scripps College | Coordinator: Luxe Events and Design | Florist: Paradise Flowers | Beauty: Swell Beauty | Desserts: Some Crust Bakery | Music: DJ Daniel | Entertainment: RK Diversified Entertainment | Bar Service: Sunseri's Bar Service
