Downton Inspired Tea at Muzeo in Anaheim
Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center is an Anaheim treasure. Compelling exhibits are housed in this historical building which was once The Anaheim Public Library. The library and neighboring museum showcase Orange County's history and culture. The museum also exhibits note worthy art and traveling exhibits. For it's only West Coast appearance, Muzeo Museum is proudly hosting Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times. Dressing Downton highlights fashion from one of the most widely watched television dramas in the world, Downton Abbey®. Follow your favorite characters, both upstairs and down;and walk through a costume chronicle of the period that showcases costumes and jewelry from the hit series. The exhibit runs through May 7th, and is receiving rave reviews.
To celebrate the exhibit Muzeo has asked us to cater their "High Teas". The tea room has been lovingly restored with cheerful wallpaper, drapes, wainscotting, and large windows that bring warm sunlight into the room. It's a lovely way to enjoy an afternoon filled with good friends, specialty teas, finger sandwiches, scones and petit fours. Tea selections featured are from The Republic of Tea. There is something for everyone to enjoy. Our favorite was Hibiscus. The color is a deep burgundy, and the floral flavor with delight you. The afternoon tea menu created by our Event Producer, Pam Aki includes:Assorted Teas from The Republic of Tea; English Tea Sandwiches of Egg Salad with Dill, Smoked Salmon, Roasted Turkey with Cranberry, Sun Dried Tomato, Fresh Basil and Cream Cheese; Pastries and Sweets including Lemon Sage and Blueberry Scones served with Devonshire Cream, Lemon Curd and Preserves. And always a favorite are assorted mini desserts.
Don't worry about forgetting your favorite hat. Muzeo has a wide selection of men's and women's hats at the entrance to the tea room. They're free to borrow as long as they are returned. There are so many to choose from, it's hard to decide! The room can seat 60 comfortably and would serve as the perfect venue for bridal showers, baby showers and any other social function you can imagine.
Vintage mixed matched tea cups, saucers and glassware are provided by Sweet Tea Party Rentals, and they bring an authentic "Downton Abbey" experience to life right on your table.
