Blessings Come In Many Forms

September 2, 2018 is a day that our Event Producer Pam Aki and the Summit staff will never forget. It was the day they felt the power of gratefulness. We had the honor of serving Pastor Dave Romero of  South Bay Community Church in Torrance, and his bride to be Sarah at Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro.  Pam had never actually met the couple until the wedding day, as all their communication was via email. As Pam tells the story the couple welcomed her and the staff as if they had known them for years. The warmth and love was overwhelming, and set the tone for the day to come. Not only were their hired vendors on site getting Crafted ready for the nuptials and celebration, but several of  their friends and church staff were on hand to make the day even more special. Pam and staff were slightly surprised as this is not the norm, but figured they were lucky to have such great friends.  As the ceremony began Pam learned why the planning was via email only. Not long after Dave chose Summit Events to cater the wedding reception he was diagnosed with tongue cancer and had half of his tongue removed. Between May and September Dave went in for radiation treatment on a daily basis and still managed to plan the wedding with bride as she stayed by his side.  The ceremony was performed by Dave’s best friend who shared the story of Dave and Sarah's journey. The ceremony was filled with musical praise, worship and thanksgiving for the blessing God gave Dave of saving his speech allowing him to continue with his mission of preaching. The first thing Dave wanted to do as husband and wife was to pray together. Pam said it was just magical to see and hear Dave pray. After lunch, friends began to toast Dave and Sarah and shower them with love.  It was obvious God was using Dave’s situation to reach others for the Kingdom of God and show how God is faithful in the hard times. Two weeks after the wedding Dave spoke to his congregation about God’s faithfulness sharing an email Pam wrote to Dave and Sarah.  Pam and the Summit staff felt this love story needed to be told.  The Youtube video tells of the journey.  We urge you to listen as we know many of our Summit followers will want to continue to pray for Dave and Sarah as they begin this new chapter in life and Dave continues to heal.  Thank you Dave and Sarah we love you![embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t60jtVRCDpk&feature=youtu.be[/embed]
