Cypress Sea Cove in Malibu

The year 2019 afforded us the opportunity to be part of many incredible celebrations. Each one is a special moment in time for us. All of our events help us to carry out our mission of making people happy and satisfied. But none are as special as our weddings. So it’s fitting that our final blog of the year is a wedding that will take you away to the sea, tranquility, color and a whole lot of creativity.

Meredith and Lee love the ocean and wanted a wedding that incorporated their lifestyle. Lucky for us we got to work with the incomparable Simone Goetzen of Orange County Beach Weddings. Our Event Producer, Pam Aki has a long standing relationship with Simon, and she knew that we would rise to the occasion for this one-of-a-kind wedding. She worked with the couple and us to ensure that their beach life was reflected in every detail including the food. The bride is herself a floral designer and owner of Wildflower Florist. Her team was on hand to personally ensure every bit of her vision was executed with love. The use of color, textures and natural fibers was an artistic backdrop to The Cypress Sea Cove in Malibu. There is no better view in all of Malibu for a wedding, and the photos by Ashley Paige Photography show it.

This stunning venue sits on a 2 acre bluff in Malibu with panoramic ocean views, private beach frontage and expansive lawns with gardens that are perfect for a picturesque ceremony and reception. One of the features we love is the Victorian Estate where the bride and her maids can relax and prepare for the day ahead.

If there is one recurring trend we’ve seen in 2019, it’s personalization. That rings true for couples in creating their attire, decor, and even their menus. We were over the moon that our groom Lee did exactly that. During his bachelor party with his groomsmen they caught some beautiful Ahi Tuna. We incorporated his catch into the menu with a show stopping Poke Par served on ice with an ice sculpture in the shape of a wave. Guests were thrilled to partake in the fruits of Lee’s labor.

The bar included:

Lee’s Tuna, Spicy Tuna, Salmon, Shrimp, Crab, Tofu, Teriyaki and Chicken. Sauces were serve yourself in mason jars and included, House Sauce, Spicy Sauce and Ponzu Sauce.

Salads included:

Potato & Macaroni Salads, Mixed Greens and Papaya Salad and Ramen Red Cabbage Salad.

Entrees included: Paniolo Tri Tip, Huli Huli Chicken, Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi with Island Rice, Vegetable Chow Mein, and Black Pepper Haricot Verts.

Late Night Bar included: Cajun Steak Fries, Traditional Fries and Tater Tots with Ketchup, Chipotle Mayo, Ranch Dressing and Parmesan Dust.

Pam and our chefs hit a home run with this tropical beach lifestyle menu. And Simone and the bride left no detail to chance.

We loved the way this event took everyone away to another place where nature is the main event. From the tropical feel to the attire of the bridal party and the guests, to the abundance of flowers mixed with tropical produce and the sheer beauty of the property. It’s no surprise why had to finish the year with this beautiful wedding.

We’re so grateful for the year we had and we’re energized to assist engaged couples to personalize their menus in 2020. To all the lovers out there who became engaged over the holidays, we wish you Congratulations, Happy New Year and we’re standing by help you create a wedding that reflects your traditions and style.
