A 60th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

Life's celebrations are meant to be shared. Our owner, Greg Wellburn had the opportunity to meet and work with a couple celebrating 60 years of marriage. The milestone itself is awe inspiring. This amazing couple wanted to share this milestone with six other couples who were celebrating 60 or more years of marriage! All tallied 366 years of marriage would be sitting at one table talking about life, love and commitment. Every single detail had to be perfect, and we set about helping them to create an intimate dinner party worthy of the occasion. To make the dinner truly intimate, they chose to host it at their home in Newport Beach. The dinner table was lovingly decorated with china and glassware the couple had amassed over a lifetime, figurines from family weddings, and stars with words of advice chosen by the hosts. Their son and grandchildren were there in support, with their son acting as greeter, their granddaughter mixing drinks and their grandson playing piano to the delight of their friends.Our in-house graphic department made a customized menu for each place setting, allowing guests to know exactly what they would be enjoying for dinner. The carefully prepared menu included:

• Tray Passed Hors D'Oeuvres - Coconut Beer Battered Shrimp.
• Stationary Hors D'Oeuvres - Imported and Domestic Cheeses, Assorted Herbed Flat Breads, Focaccia Fingers, Fresh Fruit, Spinach and Artichoke Dip.
• Salad Duet - Tri-Color Heirloom Tomato Caprese Salad, with Aged Balsamic Drizzle and Basil Chiffonade. Colorful Baby Romaine Selection, with Carmelized Pecans, Red Anjou Pear Slices, and our Meyer Lemon Viniagrette.
• Entree Course - Wild Caught Fresh Alaskan Salmon, Grilled with Brown Sugar Mustard Glaze, over a bed of Saffron Jasmine Rice. Braised Boneless Short Rib, finished with our Black Peppercorn Demi-Glaze. Yukon Gold Garlic-Potato Mash. Grilled Fresh Baby Asparagus, with Lemon and Aged Manchego Cheese. Gourmet Multi-Grain Rolls and Butter
• Dessert - Our Famous Almond Custard Bread Pudding, with Salted Caramel Sauce, Vanilla Bean Frosting and Toasted Almonds.

One of the highlights of the evening was the advice for the perfect dinner party that was imparted by our hosts. They said always invite people you know, and people you hope to know better. We think that's great advice, and we intend to share it. This dinner couldn't have been any better, but the icing on the cake is that a local newspaper will be featuring it soon. All of our events are special to us, but this one will live on in our memories. It was a rewarding experience for us to meet our hosts. They taught us so much about life and love. They graciously opened up their home and kitchen to us. Our entire staff was treated as though we were lifelong friends. It's easy to see why they have enjoyed such longevity, both in health and in love. Our glasses are raised to them in a toast to many more years of love.
