Earlier this summer we had the pleasure of providing catering for the wedding reception of Melanie and John Paul. They chose the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens as the place they would celebrate their marriage with their loved ones. The property is a hidden jewel in Los Angeles. As you enter the property, you immediately forget you're in the city. The entrance is grand with adobe arches and a magnificent wrought iron gate. The first thing you experience is a beautiful bubbling fountain overlooking lush native California plants. All of the buildings have clay tile roofs, hidden alcoves, arches, and artwork on the adobe walls. The bar even has Spanish Tiles for added charm. These are the little details that make this property so appealing. This charming Hacienda Style property is a favorite of Angelinos looking for an escape from the city. It's truly an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle that is Los Angeles.Melanie and John Paul worked with our Event Producer, Veronica Medrano. Customizing a menu to suit the client's needs is her specialty, and this wedding was no different. Our staff knows the property well, and enjoys serving there. The menu for this beautiful day included:Appetizers:

• Oven Roasted Quesadilla Rolls, with Smoked Chicken, Sharp Cheddar Cheese, and Cilantro, served with Avocado Tomatillo Dip

• Coconut Beer Battered Shrimp, with Tangerine Mustard Sauce

Buffet Dinner:

• Gourmet Greens and Romaine with Mandarin Orange Segments, Sun Dried Cranberries, Caramelized Walnuts, and a Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette

• Braised Short Rib, laced with Peppercorn Demi Glaze, and garnished with Grilled Match Stick Carrots

• Garlic Mashed Potatoes

• Whole Green Beans, with blistered Tear Drop Tomatoes, Roasted Peppers, Shallots and Olive Oil

Dessert:

• Vanilla Almond Custard Bread Pudding, with Salted Caramel Sauce, and Fresh Almond Frosting, and topped with Toasted Almonds and Fresh Strawberry Slices.
