The Houdini Estate
Our presence in Los Angeles for weddings and events is on the rise. With an office and tasting area in Downtown Los Angeles, more and more event planners are realizing that we can accommodate all of the catering needs for their clients. Our friends at Top Event Planning brought us in to work with their couple Phuong and Stephen. Our event producer Pam worked with them on them to create a sophisticated menu that matched their culinary style. As you can see this historic property is full of the charm that Southern California is famous for. Lush gardens make the back yard of the house a warm and inviting place to host an event. For this event, the couple chose to have their wedding ceremony and reception at the same location which means a flip. Our all-star team flipped the ceremony space into a beautiful reception while guests enjoyed the cocktail hour at The Mosaic Driveway The gorgeous ceremony structure doubled as the backdrop for the sweetheart table. Our team can always be relied upon to make a flip a breeze. The photos by Aevitas Weddings tell the story of the cuisine. Guests had an option of surf or turf and of course as always, appetizers were yummy and abundant.Appetizers: Domestic Cheese Display with Gourmet Crackers and Sourdough Baguettes; Cascade of Seasonal Fresh Fruit of Assorted Melon and Berries; Tray Passed Oven Roasted Quesadilla Rolls with Smoked Chicken, Sharp Cheddar Cheese and Cilantro with Avocado Tomatillo Dip; Coconut and Beer Battered Shrimp with Tangerine Mustard Dip; Thin Sliced Filet Mignon, Smoked Provolone and Arugula on Toasted Baguette with Creamed Horseradish, and White Truffle Oil.Entree: Plated Gourmet Salad of Romaine with Mandarin Orange Segments, Sundried Cranberries, Caramelized Walnuts, and Lemon Meyer Vinaigrette, Pan Seared New York Strip Steak with Black Peppercorn Sauce, Garlic Red Mashed Potatoes, and Grilled Asparagus with Lemon Garlic Butter; Portobello Mushroom Stuffed Ravioli with Garlic Cream Sauce; Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi with Mango Papaya Citrus Salsa, and Cilantro Basmati Rice; Penne Pasta with Peppers, Zucchini, Garlic, Olives, Vegetable Marinara, and Shaved Parmesan. Not only was it a great experience to work at this beautiful historic estate, but it was equally as wonderful to work with vendors who worked together as a cohesive team to make this couple's day all they could have imaged.
