Inside Our Non-Profit…

SUMMIT CARES: A Look Inside Our Non-Profit Collaborations (St. Joseph edition)

At Summit, we make a lot of delicious cuisines. Our team works hard because we are grateful for what we have been given: the opportunity to formulate great relationships with our clients. Not only is it our mission to always surpass the expectations of every guest, but we are equally compelled to make memories for the local heroes and the less fortunate. At the core, giving is the heartbeat of Summit.

During this time, we have had the opportunity to be even more invested in the community. As many of our events have been canceled or postponed due to the pandemic at the last minute, we have a surplus of fresh ingredients. We saw this as a silver lining. It allows us to do what we do best – using our relationships to partner and invest in our employees and the community, while helping those who need it the most.

So, one might wonder… what do we do with all our extra food?

The humble truth is… we have been donating 10 to 15 THOUSAND pounds of food on an annual basis for over two decades! Our philosophy on abundance is not about the amount of food that we have, but how we give back. In today’s #SummitStory, we explore four recent and wonderful collaborations Summit has had with EventLA, St. Joseph’s Children’s Research Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and LOT318.

Summit and St. Joseph’s Hospitals: Making Sweet Memories

St. Joseph’s Children’s Research Hospital is very close to Summit’s heart. In the past, we are very fortunate to have assisted with responsible, pre-packaged high-quality catering meals to feed both St. Joseph’s staff and patients.

Summit sends sweet messages with these tags on our fresh cookies, delivered to St. Joseph’s staff.

In light of the Coronavirus, we are so thankful for what St. Joseph’s Hospital is doing for our community, and wanted to honor St. Joseph’s hard-working doctors, nurses, and caregivers. Last week, Our Vice President of Event Sales, Veronica Medrano, alongside team members Joe Lopez and Andreea Isacescu, delivered 400 fresh, pre-packaged chocolate chip cookies to the hospital’s doorsteps.

Given the success of the St. Joseph’s drop off, we are delivering 200 cookies to show appreciation for the workers at St. Joseph’s Hospital as well. We value all of the hard workers at the frontline of this pandemic. While we cannot serve our clients at this time, it puts a smile on our faces to know that we are still creating sweet memories.

And Finally, Food for Thought:

The pandemic has only allowed us to do more of what we love to do. We – the management, sales, and service team  – are passionate about using our time and talents to give back. By working together in the community, the heart of Summit unifies into one… and our mission becomes stronger.

These moments not only move our company’s story forward, but that of our employees and their friends and families.  We are humbled and grateful to be given the opportunity to bless many others. We’d like to thank EventLA,St. Joseph’s Children’s Research HospitalSt. Joseph’s Hospital, and LOT318for letting Summit Event Catering be a part of something greater.

Together, we are better!
