We are proud and honored to announce Jonathon Vu as our Employee of the Month for August 2017.  So much can be said about Jonathon.  In his 20 years plus with Summit, he has supervised over 2000 events for us, and has played a huge part in the success we all enjoy.  We always call on John for our largest and most complex events. Recently Jon Co-Supervised a crucial aspect of one of our most logistically challenging events in our history, with confidence and poise leading his team to a very successful outcome.  The client was amazed at how the team worked together, the quality of our products provided, as well as the overall design of the event. This is just one example of Jonathon’s expertise in leading our crews week in and week out.  We so appreciate Jon’s eye for detail and his ability to see every area of the event clearly. His knowledge and wisdom on how to get the best from his staff is always a focus.  He is the consummate event manager, able to work equally well with the front of the house staff, as well as the kitchen. He is truly a foodie first, confident is his knowledge of food preparation, flavor profiles and presentations. When not working with Summit he enjoys eating out, with his favorite cuisine being fresh farm to table style California Cuisine.  He particularly looks for places that source local and fresh ingredients in their preparations.  His favorite restaurant is True Food.  Great name right?  Jon also loves snowboarding locally at Mountain High and abroad in Argentina.  He also enjoys live music in his spare time. We asked Jon about his favorite vacation spot and he quickly replied, “Indonesia!  I love the people, environment and the beauty of the country”. What he most marveled about was how fertile the soil was, how easily everything grows, and how gorgeous and lush the landscape is.One of the most important virtues Jon brings to Summit is his true and genuine concern for every individual that works for Summit. Jon has been an important advocate for the health and safety policies enacted at Summit.  His professional background outside of Summit has given him the insights that he shares freely with ownership. We listen carefully and provide the necessary policies that Jon advocates whenever possible.  We are extremely grateful for his experience, his willingness to share it with us, and consequently working toward creating a safer work environment. When asked what he likes best about Summit, he quickly and simply replied, “Our People”.  He really enjoys working with and helping the employees at Summit.  His sage advice to our employees, and we whole-heartedly agree, is to be passionate about your service, and develop your plan before and during work.  It’s not a job he says, “Instead think of it as playing, and enjoy the journey while you are doing it.  Even if this is not your calling or career job still bring your best game every day”.On behalf of everyone at Summit we salute you Jon!  You are a true gift to Summit, our employees and all the guests we serve day in and day out.  Thank you!!!
